Character in Scene Painting
Here we have Sarah's final painting assignment for the year! The character she did in acrylic on Acetate and the background painting was done in watercolour which Sarah thoroughly enjoyed. She is very happy with the final result of this piece and is also very happy to be done traditional painting for the year! Sarah hopes to do lots of digital studies over the summer to improve her digital painting skills before next year!

Flour Sack Animation
And here we have Sarah's final animation project for her first year, a animation of a little Flour Sack! Sarah is very proud of herself for getting a good sense of character into the flour sack and for how she handled the hand. As always she had a lot of fun with this animation project and is happy to see the final result being received well among her peers. Summer is here but keep up the hard work Sarah! Next year will bring fourth lots of new challenges and experiences, can you do it? We believe you can!

Character Sequence Rough Animation
As promised no more slacking! Here is Sarah's rough bit of animation on her character sequence! This is what she is handing in for class but she assures us she is going to finish the whole animation and try to clean it up by the end of summer, that is the small project she wants to finish over the break! Along with two summer courses and a full time job lets not put too much pressure on her though. We are all wishing her luck from the journal studio here!

Complete Model Sheet
Here we have it! Sarah's last assignment for character design this year! She almost did a farmer Gopher which the teacher liked but wanted to challenge herself by doing an animal outside the rodent family. In the end she created a great character with the help of her teacher and hopes to get on the wall with this one, her last chance! If she doesn't she won't be too crushed though, she is still proud of this lovable guy!
And thats it for today! I promise to update you as soon as Sarah completes the last of her assignments this semester! One more week before she moves back home!

Diagonal Pan
Tsk tsk Sarah... where is the cat in this one? I must say she dropped the ball on this last Layout assignment... and she was doing so well... hehe just kidding! This turned out not too bad! Very simplistic but it met the requirements and was still a great learning experience for Sarah!

Original Character Walk Cycle
Fennec Fox Walk Cycle
Sarah did a great job on this animal walk cycle of a Fennec Fox! She felt the project wasn't challenging enough though and wishes she would have picked a more difficult animal. Either way great job! Sarah got to learn how to use TVPaint and got more practice in Flash with this project though and she really enjoyed the experience!

Babushki Workbook
Sarah had to redraw a environment from a storyboard and work book from a project called Babushki. She is happy with the results but didn't have much to tell us about this one.

Cool and Warm environments
A lot of painting assignments this semester. But Sarah rocked each on of them! Her work with gouache has improved drastically this year and even though they are moving into digital work next year she is very glad to have improved this skill! She is really proud of the studies more than the finals though! This project was meant to practice different moods and colour schemes in a single environment!

Character Timeline
Hello again! Here is Sarah's Character design assignment, the Character Timeline! Sarah is very happy with the results of this project, she really surprised herself with with this one. She had a lot of trouble finding a style for it but in the end she found one she liked! Sadly she didn't make it on the wall like she hoped, but she is still happy none-the-less and she should be! Great job Sarah!

Head Turn Lip Sync
Oh my, Its almost the end of the semester! Where has the time gone! We are terribly sorry for falling behind on keeping you up to date with Sarah's artwork! This here is a head rotation and lip sync that Sarah did with Dean from the Iron Giant. I think I'm in love with his voice.. ahem.. did I say that out loud? Sarah isn't very proud of this piece sadly. The turn around she says didn't turn out to bad but she thinks the character comes off model too much during the lip sync and expression. Over all not to bad though! We are still proud of you Sarah!

Master Copy Painting project
Here is Sarah's work on her Master Painting project. Overall she did fairly well! She is surprised with how well the coloured version came out on her final painting since she had been struggling with the colours on the thumbnails previous. She still has a couple touch ups to do but she figured its not going to change to much so she allowed us to post this a week early! Sarah really wants to get on the wall with this one but she isn't feeling overly confident that she will even though she worked over 10 hours on the final painting. I guess we will wait and see!
~Amelia signing off!
Textured Layout Drawings
Well what do you know, Sarah is keeping up with her vow to drawing cats! She has improved greatly on characterizing them, though she is not quite at the level she wants to be. Anywho, more on the project. Sarah actually had a lot of fun with this project, regardless of it being in pencil. It reminded her of her junior high drawing days. She hopes to get a good mark but the teachers marking scheme confuses her so she is not very confident on how well she will do. Good luck to her!

Bone Test
Welcome back everyone! Lets start this off with a bang! Or a slice? Here we have Sarah's bone test drawings! The first three were practice ones and the very last one was what she managed for her actual test. Sara got 100% on naming all the bones and got 79% on her actual drawing. 1% away from an A! Needless to say, congrats to Sarah for all her hard work! I believe she is pretty happy with the outcome!
